I know this looks like a dog. But to me, this is not just a dog ❤️.
Rather, I think of Woody as my four-legged wingman in life. He is the best friend and shadow that I never knew I needed.
As well as being by my side during times of great happiness, he has seen me through times of great loss, walking by my side for miles, and curled up next to me through long nights.
I love all creatures, having grown up with many wonderful, mainly rescued animals but I have never had one quite like him. My own teens adore him as well, seeking him out (‘where is doggo?’). He is full of personality and friends joke that he is the Lloyd Grossman of dogs. And it is true, he does have very particular culinary tastes!
In my work too, youngsters who are wary of humans and may be reticent to engage, almost always instantly connect with Woody and as a result then me too. He is often my breakthrough, sitting there in his jumper or as he currently is, in his Halloween bandana!
