“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”;
“Little children little worries, big children big worries”;
“Give with a warm heart rather than a cold hand”.
My grandma was full of wise sayings that still often spring to mind.
And one of which I particularly recall is, “All I want (my darling) is your presence not presents”.
As my own children grow, time together being present feels palpably precious. With one towering above me now, and the other one fast catching up, the physical markers of time are clear to see.
As educators, we spend a vast amount of time with other people’s children and families. And whilst this is always a privilege, having the holidays to rest and be with our own always feels like particularly treasured time. #summerholidaysnearlyhere
